Spider-Man 3: The Black Suit Revealed!

HUGE POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!

Well, crap.

Yeah, its old news by now, but Sony surprised everyone with the official release of a pic of Spider-Man's black costume from the upcoming Spider-Man 3. See it at the official site HERE.

Its looking like the film will detail his battle with the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), when he aquires a mysterious costume that enhances his powers, but at the cost of his sanity. The suit will end up in the hands of Peter's rival photographer, Eddie Brock (most likely played by Topher Grace, though this has not yet been officially confirmed), leading to the appearance of Venom in Spider-Man 4, which should be out around May 2009.

A few things.

First off, its not the traditional Symbiote Spidey suit. Its the traditional red/blue design, but its straight black with silver webbing. Blargh. After the outstanding job they did bringing the traditional red/blue Spidey suit to the big screen, we don't get to see the alien costume? I'm heartbroken...I really wanted to see that in live action, the red/blue costume is by far the best costume work on a comic based move I've ever seen.

Secondly, no, I have no fucking idea what is reflecting in his eye. Its probably nothing more than a light refraction. People over on the SuperHeroHype! Forums are going insane trying to figure out who is in Spidey's eye piece, since Green Goblin and Doc Ock were both reflected in previous posters. But, lets keep in mind...this is NOT a poster, but a preview image, much like the Spidey squatting on a roof pic we got in Spider-Man 1. So stop zooming, clarifying, and freaking out. Its probably nothing, and if you do find something, its probably going to be Raimi pointing and laughing.

We only have confirmation on THC as the Sandman from the earlier released pic. Topher Grace is only confirmed as in it (though a British tabloid reported he was, indeed, playing Eddie Brock), and James Franco has not yet been revelaed as being either Green or Hobgoblin...in fact, I don't think him being a Goblin has even been stated (correct me if I'm wrong, please?)

You guys who know me should know I'm a huge Spidey fan. Keep your eyes on Spoilery Bits, and I'll put the info up here as I see it. Ciao.
